How can you make deeper connections with people and help them vs. be someone who people can only superficially connect with?
In this episode I explore –
– What empathy means vs. what sympathy does?
– What can you say to people struggling through tough times, what will make people flock towards you vs. things you unintentionally say that drive them farther from you.
– What are boundaries and why they are absolutely necessary and examples of what you can say?
Boundaries a very important lesson that we don’t get taught in school but an absolutely essential life skill that we all should learn to be compassionate and loving towards ourselves and others.
They are essential life skills required to have healthy relationships with others and a healthy life. When we pour from an empty bucket we are often left feeling drained, overwhelmed, and resentful. They are not easy to set, they are very uncomfortable to communicate because we don’t want people to not like us, we don’t want to disappoint or hurt people.
“Boundaries are frickin’ important. They’re not fake walls, they’re not separation, boundaries are not division, they are respect. They are here’s what’s ok for me and here’s what’s not.” ~ Dr. Brené Brown
